Want to be part of a European student network? Applications are now open for the EC2U Ambassadors Programme!
UC students interested in digital communication and promoting EC2U and the University of Coimbra as digital media 'influencers' for the Alliance can apply until the 15th of September.
EC2U - European Campus of City-Universities is launching its new ambassador network and applications are open until 15 September for the EC2U Ambassadors Programme, which aims to give a voice to students from the eight universities that make up the alliance: University of Coimbra, University of Poitiers (France), Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania), University of Salamanca (Spain), University of Pavia (Italy), University of Turku (Finland) and Johannes Kepler University of Linz (Austria).
Selected students for the programme will be able to participate in the Alliance's communications strategy, contributing ideas and creating content to promote the Alliance to their peers. Some key initiatives the EC2U Ambassadors will carry out include developing advertising campaigns, publishing content on EC2U's social media, writing articles for the Alliance's website , creating a digital magazine and organising online and hybrid events.
Throughout one year, student ambassadors will also have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including visits to other European universities and initiatives across Europe. The first activity for the selected candidates will focus on training the new EC2U ambassadors and will be held in France, at the University of Poitiers, from 19 to 21 November.
In addition to free participation in various EC2U activities – with mobility grants provided if the activity takes place outside the country where the EC2U Ambassadors study and live – they will also have the opportunity to receive a final certificate of participation, attend training sessions, network and collaborate with students from other universities, and develop or improve skills such as writing and communicating in different languages, public speaking, content creation, and social media management.
Two ambassadors will be selected from each university. At the University of Coimbra, students enrolled in 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle programmes (Bachelor's, Integrated Master's, Master's and PhD) are eligible to apply, provided they meet certain criteria. These include an English language proficiency of at least B2 level, a strong interest in EC2U activities or experience in using and communicating via social media. More information on the eligibility criteria can be found here.
When submitting their application, students must provide their personal details, language skills, the higher education institution they represent, why they want to be an EC2U Ambassador and an example of a digital communication action (either already implemented or a draft proposal). Applications must be submitted here.
EC2U is a multicultural, multilingual European Universities Alliance, coordinated by the University of Poitiers, which aims to create an open and innovative space for seamless mobility between universities and cities. The Alliance is based on a unique cooperation between academic communities, municipalities, regional authorities, socio-economic actors and citizens.
