Claúdia Seabra, a researcher at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC), is coordinating a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project with the University of Northampton for the Degree in Tourism, Territory and Heritage (FLUC) and the Degree in Tourism and Events at the University of Northampton.

The "UON-UC COIL Project: Safe and Sustainable Destinations" is a project carried out in collaboration with Associate Professor Fabio Carbone from the University of Northampton. As part of the Tourism and Safety course (FLUC) and the Destination Management for Tourism and Events course (UNorthampton), students are developing a joint project to analyse the relationship between tourism and safety and to develop proposals and strategies for more sustainable and resilient destinations.

Learning took place during the first semester, with both lecturers attending classes in Northampton and FLUC. The final projects will be presented online at the 4th edition of the Tourism and Security Conference, to be held online next Saturday, 30 November at 9 am.
