UC Faculty of Law celebrates its 188th anniversary

The solemn ceremony will take place on 5 December at 15:30 at Colégio da Trindade.

The Day of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (FDUC) will be celebrated on Thursday, 5 December, the 188th anniversary of the FDUC's foundation [through the merger of the former Faculties of Canon Law and Law]. It will take place at 15.30 in the Colégio da Trindade.

The opening session will be attended by the Rector of the University of Coimbra, Amílcar Falcão, the Vice-Rector of the UC for Heritage, Buildings and Tourism, Alfredo Dias, the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni, João Calvão da Silva, and FDUC Director, Jónatas Machado.

At 4 pm, the Ambassador of East Timor to Portugal, Isabel Amaral Guterres, will give a speech on 'Relations between East Timor and Portugal today', followed by a lecture by Rui de Figueiredo Marcos, Full Professor at FDUC.

The formal session will end with the awarding of academic prizes, after the musical performance 'Sintonias' by the Orquestra Clássica do Centro.
