‘UC Exploratório’ is one of the winners of EDP Energy Solidarity Programme
The EDP Foundation has selected Verd'o Parque Learning Labs: Energy and Sustainability from a Circular Economy Perspective, a project promoted by UC Exploratório in partnership with APPACDM, for funding.
After a process of reviewing applications from across the country, the project Verd'o Parque Learning Labs: Energy and Sustainability from a Circular Economy Perspective, promoted by UC Exploratório in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Disabled Citizens (APPACDM) of Coimbra, has been selected for funding by the EDP Foundation. It will run from November 2024 to November 2026.
The project aims to promote public literacy, focusing on younger populations, people with mental vulnerabilities, and those in situations of social exclusion, on the topics of the circular economy and a fair energy transition. The Verd'o Parque Learning Labs will be implemented at UC Exploratório through a 'living labs' series that integrates practical, experimental, and free activities, providing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities in informal contexts.
Each of these laboratories will focus on a specific theme (renewable energy, circular economy, sustainability, etc.). The main goal is to engage and motivate the public to adopt attitudes and behaviour that promote a more sustainable balance between energy needs and the environment.
Paulo Trincão, Director of UC Exploratório, said: "This project will contribute to the leading role of the University of Coimbra and the Ciência Viva Centres in promoting good practices for the use of sustainable energy within communities. Coimbra will now have more tangible and straightforward examples of actions that can help reduce its citizens' ecological footprint."
Your text is clear and well-written, but I’d make a couple of minor revisions to improve flow and ensure consistency in British English. Here’s a revised version:
The award ceremony took place on Thursday, 7 November, at the MAAT Central building in Lisbon, in the presence of the President of the EDP Foundation, Vera Pinto Pereira.
The EDP Solidarity Energy Programme supports social projects that, by promoting a just energy transition, have a positive impact on individuals or groups in vulnerable situations, social economy workers, students, or more isolated communities.
