UC Botanical Garden invites new UC students to 'plant the future'
The UC.Plantas environmental awareness initiative promotes the integration of first-year students into the academic community through science.
Under the motto "Knowing how to plant the future", the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra (JBUC) resumes in 2024/25 the environmental awareness project UC.Plantas, aimed at new UC students, to promote integration into the academic community through science.
This academic year, there are 300 native plants, trees and shrubs available to be adopted and cared for by 1st year students of the University of Coimbra (UC). Besides monitoring the growth of the adopted plant, the UC Botanical Garden also organises several volunteering activities throughout the year.
UC freshers interested in adopting a plant can fill in and submit this online form by the 2nd of October (2pm)
Plants will be handed over to students next Wednesday, 2 October, at 6pm, on the Júlio Henriques Terrace of the Botanical Garden.
