Today, 16 October, is World Food Day. To mark the occasion, the Social Services of the University of Coimbra (SASUC) are launching a special campaign focused on tackling food waste and promoting sustainable consumption.

Therefore, today at noon, all University of Coimbra (UC) canteens that offer a social meal service will serve a social dish aimed at promoting more sustainable and conscious food consumption. The chosen dish is Pataniscas, a balanced option that reflects the commitment to maximising food use and minimising waste.

Tomorrow, 17 October, at 4pm, SASUC is hosting a creative and sustainable cooking workshop in the Yellow Canteens. Aimed at the UC community, it will teach simple and effective techniques for turning leftovers into tasty and nutritious meals, encouraging more conscious and green consumption. Limited registration is available at https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/342612?lang=pt.

This SASUC campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness within the academic community about the importance of reducing food waste and to encourage more responsible choices in everyday life.
