The Social Services of the University of Coimbra (SASUC) will host the International Congress on Mental Health in Young Adults on 27-28 March 2025, a landmark event for mental health experts, researchers and professionals.

The Congress aims to reflect and discuss the main challenges and progress made in mental health in young adults. The programme will include practical workshops for professionals, oral and poster presentations, roundtables and lectures by renowned experts.

Two keynote speakers stand out in particular: Chris Irons, clinical psychologist and director of Balanced Minds, and Tânia Graça, psychologist, sexologist and content creator, who will give a talk open to the whole community on 27 March at 7pm at the Rectory Auditorium. Anyone wishing to attend this talk should fill in the form available here.

The congress will be live-illustrated by Luísa Amado (Quirky Luísa), offering participants a unique visual experience.

Another highlight of the event will be the publication of abstracts of selected papers in the journal PSYCHOLOGICA. The journal will dedicate a special issue to the conference, thus providing a valuable opportunity for scientific dissemination. Proposals for oral and poster presentations can be submitted to congresso.saudemental@sas.uc.pt by 16 February.

Registration is now open, and all information is available at https://www.uc.pt/sasuc/congresso-de-saude-mental/. No fee will be charged.

The congress is organised by SASUC within the framework of the Programme for the Promotion of Mental Health in Higher Education, as part of the funded project 'S2ES@Coimbra - Supporting Students at Every Step'.
