Results of the 2024 elections for the General Council of the University of Coimbra
The 2024 Electoral Commission of the General Council has announced the results of the election held yesterday (Tuesday 10 December) to select the representatives of the teaching and research staff,1st and 2nd cycle students, 3rd cycle students, and non-teaching and non-research staff on the General Council of the University of Coimbra for the four-year term 2024–2028.
Representatives of Teaching and Research Staff - 18 seats:
- List E (headed by Carlos Henggeler Antunes, Lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology): 267 votes - 6 seats

The results were obtained using the d'Hondt method of proportional representation. Once the Electoral Commission has finalised the results, they must be approved by the President of the General Council of the UC, Gabriela Figueiredo Dias, by 5.30 pm on Friday, December 13th.
The General Council of the University of Coimbra has 35 members, 25 of whom are directly elected: 18 representatives of teaching and research staff, 4 representatives of 1st and 2nd cycle students, 1 representative of 3rd cycle students, and 2 representatives of the non-teaching and non-research staff. The remaining 10 members will be co-opted by the 25 elected members.
