New UC Masters in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Music & Sound Design with applications open

From 2 to 13 September, prospective students can apply for the two brand new MSc courses at the UC campus in Figueira da Foz

The University of Coimbra's campus in Figueira da Foz (CUCFF) has two new Master's degrees: Artificial Intelligence and Computer Music & Sound Design, coordinated by the Department of Informatics Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology. Applications will be accepted from 2 to 13 September.

These new Master's degrees have been created to meet the growing demand for specialised professionals in these fields and to address the need to train leaders in technological innovation as these markets expand.

The Master's in Artificial Intelligence aims to train professionals capable of designing, analysing, implementing and improving Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for scientific and industrial contexts. It provides them with the skills to identify opportunities and lead technological innovation in the field, including through entrepreneurship. This innovative course offers specific pedagogical approaches to AI, combining theoretical and practical aspects to address the real needs of people and organisations in creating intelligent systems. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum combining computer science, engineering, design and art, the Master's in Computer Music and Sound Design aims to train specialised professionals by integrating music, digital technology and the creative industries. It seeks to enhance the provision of training in this area by promoting interdisciplinary teaching and recognising the increasingly important role of computer science in the arts. the University of Coimbra Campus ain Figueira da Foz will also be offering its first undergraduate degree in the 2024/25 academic year: the Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, coordinated by the Department of Life Sciences (FCTUC).
