International Symposium "Building International Bridges" marks the 5th anniversary of the Sino-Lusophone Academy of the University of Coimbra
The event will take place this Friday in the Auditorium of the Colégio da Trindade, with the former President of Cape Verde as guest speaker.
The University of Coimbra (UC) will host the international symposium Building International Bridges this Friday, 11 October. The event, which marks the 5th anniversary of UC's Sino-Lusophone Academy, will begin at 9:30 at Colégio da Trindade.
The programme includes the presentation of the Doctor Vasco da Gama Lobo Xavier Prize and the launch of a book on the prize, a round table on the 500th anniversary of the birth of the Portuguese poet Luís Vaz de Camões and a panel discussion on the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Portugal and China. One of the highlights will be the opening speech by the former President of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca.
The initiative is open to the whole community and prior registration is required by 10 October here. It will also be broadcast online on the UC Sino-Lusophone Academy Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AcademiaSinoLusofonaUC.
This symposium is organised as part of the International Language and Cultural Committee project, in partnership with the Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities Alliance (GISU), of which UC is a founding member.
