INOVC+ Launches 4th Edition
The initiative aims to create a structured system linking science, technology and business, to establish the Centro region as a national benchmark in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
INOVC+ – Central region’s smart innovation ecosystem is a strategic pilot project to implement and consolidate an innovation ecosystem for knowledge and technology transfer, using a network-based approach to improve the valorisation and transfer of knowledge and research, development and innovation (R&D&I) results to the regional economy.
The 4th edition was presented on 19 February at the Auditorium of the Centro Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRC), and builds on the success of previous programmes - InovC, INOVC 2020 and previous editions of INOVC+ - which, since 2010, have promoted a structured system linking science, technology and business to position the Centro region as a national reference in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Led by the University of Coimbra, the consortium brings together 23 organisations, including higher education institutions, science and technology parks, technology valorisation and transfer centres. This edition welcomes five new members: Coimbra Nursing School, BIKiNNOV, Sea Power, STAR Institute and CTCV.
INOVC+ will run for the next two and a half years, with an investment of 4.1 million euros, 85% of which is co-financed by Centro 2030, Portugal 2030 and the European Union.
