Applications are open until the 10th of March for people interested in participating as mentors in the EC2U Mentoring Webinar: Brigding Academia and Industry Society, organised by EC2U - European Campus of City-Universities.

This mentoring programme aims to foster new links between academia and industry by bringing together professionals with doctorates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (commonly known as STEM) with PhD students from the eight universities in the EC2U Alliance: University of Coimbra (Portugal), University of Poitiers (France), Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (Romania), University of Salamanca (Spain), University of Pavia (Italy), University of Turku (Finland) and Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria).

Mentors will play a crucial role in providing PhD students with different perspectives on career paths in industry and offering tailored advice on the final stage of their PhD and next steps especially when entering the labour market.

This mentoring programme is looking for professionals with a PhD in STEM fields, currently working in industry, who will be available to mentor PhD students for four hours: during a two-hour webinar, which will take place on 28 April between 14:00 and 16:00 (Portugal time), and during two follow-up sessions. All activities will be carried out remotely.

Those interested in providing these mentoring sessions should submit a short presentation (with information on their education, professional background and current job) and, if available, a link to their LinkedIn profile to career.mentoring@jku.at.
