Applications for activities to be included in the 6th edition of the Mimesis Theatre and Performing Arts Cycle are open until 2 February. The event, organised by the University of Coimbra (UC), will be held from 2 to 21 May 2025.

Launched in 2020, the Mimesis Cycle is part of the UC Rectorate's annual strategy for cultural programming. Its objectives include supporting artistic creation and practice, promoting specialised research, improving education and skills in the arts, contributing to the diversity and quality of cultural programming, and promoting audience growth and engagement. The initiative also aims to stimulate dialogue between the UC, the city, the region and the country.

The Theatre and Performing Arts Cycle seeks to revive the University of Coimbra's historic role in these areas of artistic activity, with special emphasis on drama, while strengthening its presence in broader cultural networks, artistic laboratories and significant initiatives for aesthetic and performative reflection.

Although not limited to a specific theme, the 6th edition of Mimesis will strongly focus on poetry, the theme chosen for the University of Coimbra's Cultural Week 2025.

More information about the Mimesis Cycle is available at https://www.uc.pt/cultura/mimesis. Applications for activities to be included in the 6th edition of Mimesis must be submitted through the form available at https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/754415?lang=pt.
