3rd Coimbra Region Climate Change Congress takes place on 13 December

The 3rd Coimbra Region Climate Change Congress, organised by the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region and the Figueira da Foz City Council, in collaboration with the University of Coimbra, will take place on 13 December at 9:00 am.

The event aims to provide an updated perspective on climate change and to identify challenges and opportunities through contributions from national and international speakers in technical, scientific, and governance fields.

The opening session will feature addresses by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Emídio Sousa; the Rector of the University of Coimbra, Amílcar Falcão; the President of the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region, Emílio Torrão; and the Mayor of Figueira da Foz, Pedro Santana Lopes.

Throughout the day, several panels will explore topics such as the current global context of climate change, the role of policymakers in this field, and the impact of climate change on various sectors. The closing session is scheduled for 16:30.
